As the Head of Upstream Process Development - Gene Therapy,  you will be empowered to drive the culture and strategy for the Gene Therapy Process Development Upstream team and create a strong interface with internal and external partners to enable products to move fast towards clinical trials and commercial launch.

In this role, you will contribute to Takeda’s mission by managing and developing the team for Upstream Process Development based on the increasingly complex Takeda Gene Therapy product portfolio and generating targeted innovative upstream process solutions focused on automation, digitalization and advanced control strategies

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD degree in Natural Science e.g. Biotechnology, Molecular Biology

• More than 10 years of experience in process development with the ability and enthusiasm for developing robust commercial upstream manufacturing processes for viral & non-viral gene therapies

• A strong background in cell culture-, upstream, downstream and analytical process techniques

• Profound experience in process industrialization of gene therapy process (e.g. cell biology, fermentation, protein purification) and biotechnology

• Several years of experience within the biotechnological- or pharmaceutical industry

• Profound experience in personnel management

• Fluency in German and English strictly required

• Location: Orth/Donau (near Vienna)
